Reginald Dwight aka Elton John was born on March 25th 1947, in Pinner, England. In 1970 John signed with MCA and released a Top 10 hit single, "Your Song," which made him highly popular in America. Throughout the 70's Elton John was a pop superstar releasing smash hits like "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me." Elton John made a huge comeback in 1992 signing a $40 million dollar contract with Warner. In 1994 he won five Grammy nominations and three Oscar's for "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from the Disney animated motion picture, The Lion King. In 1997, John played a revised version of "Candle In The Wind" at the funeral for Princess Diana. The new single sold millions and all proceeds were donated to various charities including the Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
