"Level 42 was formed in 1980 by Mark King, Rowland Gould, Philip Gould and Mike Lindup. This group was one of the most exciting new bands of the 80s. Level 42's first big hit was ""The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)"" which broker into the UK Top 10 in 1984. Along with World Machine, they released album gained them international recoginition. Level 42 had a series of hit singles starting in 1985: ""Something About You"", ""Leaving Me Now"", ""Lessons In Love"", ""Running In The Family"" and ""It's Over"" in 1987. The group got a face-lift by replacing both the Gould's with Alan Murphy and Gary Husband. The group suffered a tragic loss when Murphy died of pneumonia a year after the release of Staring At The Sun. The group adopted guitarist Allan Holdsworth to fill in for the recording of Guaranteed. The group added strength to their vocals with Jakko Jakszyk in 1991.
Even with the return of Philip Gould for their Forever Now album, Level 42 had taken a downturn from their popularity. They announced their split in 1994, playing their last show at the Royal Albert Hall, London on 14 October. Mark King gained the rights to the name Lemon Jelly in 2002 and began touring.He is putting on phenomenal shows, catch Level 42 today! "
