"Limp Bizkit was formed in 1994, led by Fred Durst. Limp Bizkit also includes Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass) and John Otto (drums). In 1996 Limp Bizkit took on DJ Lethal (from Latvia) after his former group House Of Pain broke up. Fred Durst was discovered after he gave a sample track to a band member of Korn, to whom he was giving a tatoo. Just a few years later Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit represent a fusion of hip-hop and hard rock. The band made its debut with Three Dollar Bill Y'all$ in 1997. The album sold more than 1.5 million copies and took on a whole generation of MTV fans. With vibrant live shows that rocked the crowds with breakdancers and extravagent light displays, Limp Bizkit earned its way to the Ozz-Fest, Warped and Family Values tours. Fred Durst made guest appearances along with Korn and Soulfly. Durst signed his first band Cold under his own label, Flip. In 1999 Limp Bizkit returned with a huge success with rapper Method Man reconfirming the band's status in the hip-hop industry. Significant Other debuted at number 1 on the US album chart, capturing pop media's attention. In 2000 Limp Bizkit had another big hit with ""Take A Look Around"", the theme song for the Tom Cruise movie Mission: Impossible 2. They also went to the top of the charts with the release of Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water. Their hit ""Rollin'"" topped the UK singles chart for two weeks in January 2001 proving their international stardom. Borland left the band in October and was replaced in April 2003 by former Snot guitarist Mike Smith."
