John Osbourne aka Ozzy Osbourne was born on 3 December 1948, Aston, Birmingham, England. The incredibly popular Ozzy left the well known band Black Sabbath to set up his own band with original members Lee Kerslake (drums), Bob Daisley (bass) and Randy Rhoads (guitar). They released their first album Blizzard Of Oz which was followed by some internal changes. In 1982 Osbourne bit off the head of a bat on stage, shocking the world the same year his live album Speak To The Devil, was released. The following years Ozzy released a number of albums and again several line-up changes were made. In the late 80s his wife Sharon became his manager who also helped him with his alcohol problem. Osbourne's 1995 release Ozzmosis was one of the greatest albums of his career, and was a huge commercial success. It was at this time, that Osbourne started the Ozz-Fest, a heavy metal tour featuring himself and other hard rock bands. The tour turned out to be an amazing success and remains an ongoing and lucrative event. During the late 90s Osbourne rejoined Black Sabbath and gave some big live shows. In 2002, the MTV reality TV show The Osbournes started on MTV, in which Ozzy's everyday family life is revealed. The show, appropriately named The Osbournes, became an huge success, was one the channel's highest viewing figures and has become one of MTV's daily programs. In addition, Ozzy Osbourne continues to tour occasionally.
