"Rapper Trevor Smith aka Busta Rhymes was born in 1972, New York, USA. Busta Rhymes debuted in 1996 with his first album The Coming. The ragga-influenced hip hop/rap album features singles such as ""Everything Remains Raw"", ""It's A Party"" and Busta Rhymes' first hit ""Woo-Hah!!"", which topped in the US Top 10. However, The Coming's release in the UK was quite dissapointing. Busta Rhymes followed up with his second released album When Disaster Strikes in 1997. The album reached the US Album top 5, and included a powerful duet with Erykah Badu on ""One"" and ""Turn It Up/Fire It Up"". The single brought Busta his first UK success where it debuted at number 2. Soon after, Busta Rhymes followed up with Flipmode Squad's album The Imperial. Flipmode Squad is a project including rappers such as Rampage, Lord Have Mercy, Spliff Star, Rah Digga and Baby Sham. Hard working Rhymes released another album that same year; Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front. The album spawned the hit single ""Gimme Some More"" which reached number 5 in the UK singles chart in January 1999. Moreover, the catchy single; ""What's It Gonna Be?!', featuring Janet Jackson, was another massive hit and reached the US as well as the UK Top 10. Besides his musical career, Busta Rhymes tries to break into the movie industry. In 2000 he worked on several movie projects, including the remake of Shaft, and released another album Anarchy."
