His parents divorced when he was two and he grew up with his grandparents, who bought him a guitar in 1960. After playing in a schoolband for a while he founded the band the Roosters in 1963. Later on the blues purist switched to Casey Jones & The Engineers. Eric Clapton played in legendary bands such as The Bluesbreakers, Cream and Blind Faith. Some of Clapton's classic albums are 461 Ocean Boulevard, Just One Night and Layla. His album Unplugged was awarded six Grammies in 1993. These are just a few highlights in the life of world's premier living rock guitarist Eric Clapton. In his career, he also has worked together with the Beatles, Joe Jocker, The Band, Phil Collins and many more. Most recently, Clapton released his first live album in ten years, 'One More Rider One More Car', recorded during his successful world tour in 2001. Eric Clapton is currently working on a new album, so expect new material as well as the classics!
