The Musical Fame is a stage version of the classic dance film following the highs and lows of a group of star-gazing students at the High School for Performing Arts in New York. The classic Oscar-winning dance-film Fame provides the inspiration for this highly successful staging, which transfers from the Cambridge Theatre on Sept 4. The Musical Fame is directed by Runar Borge, the action, which takes place over four years at the High School for Performing Arts in New York, follows the highs and lows, loves and ambitions of a group of star-gazing students. Since the show was first launched in the West End in 1995, its 30-plus performers have got through an alarming number of essential performing arts school items - over 3000 pairs of leg warmers, 2000 pairs of jazz shoes, 800 sweat bands and 3 bright yellow New York cabs.
